The original 5U4 Trophy, shown above on the left, "went missing" in 2009 and was replaced today with the new improved version shown on the right.
Yes, that is a polished Perspex base.
Below it is being presented for the first time to Jim Rogers (right) by Lou Berube who produced both trophies and many other mementos.

The trophy is intended for the technician who encounters, overcomes and explains the most challenging technological hurdle during the month.
Sharp-eyed critics might wonder how the original 5U4 rectifier came to be replaced with a KT-66 triode.
Wonder on!
